This is my beautiful family. My wife Carol and I have been married for 27 years and our children are both products of Durham Public Schools. And they both came through Forest View! Mrs. B is a first grade instructional assistant at Forest View and our daughter just got married and is also a kindergarten teacher at the coast! Our son is a 2020 graduate of UNC and is a sports communication ! We also share our lives with our goofy little Corgidor, Charlie. He's the cutest little flop eared rescue you've ever seen!
I have always enjoyed the outdoors and a lot of my teaching involves outdoor learning. Since I was a boy I have enjoyed fishing and as a teen I developed a passion for surfing and deer hunting. My love for the outdoors is evident in my classroom as I try to get my students interested in all things outdoors! My family loves to spend times outdoors, especially at Surf City, NC, where we love the surf, sun and seafood! We head down every chance we get or spend time exercising with walks on the Eno River, at the beach, or in another favorite place, Marquette, Michigan. As a result of my love for the outdoors and how I use it to teach, my class was written up in a feature article in the magazine Wildlife in North Carolina, entitled "A Classroom Without Walls".

Another one of our favorite places in the world to visit, what is truly the happiest place on earth, is the Waller Farm right across the street from school! Farmer Mark is one of my dearest friends and is so generous with his farm, allowing us to visit many times a year to pick pumpkins, strawberries, and to see baby animals.
